Who Are We?

De Wagenburcht is a close-knit, church community based in Wageningen. Practically, this means we gather every Sunday to connect with one another and with God, discovering time and again what it means to live with Him in our lives.

Every Sunday morning, our pastor, Elso Venema, unpacks a passage from the Bible to help us understand its message. Beyond that, we meet in small groups, or “circles,” to dive deeper into what the Bible teaches us and explore how we can serve God and our neighbors in practical ways.

Vibrant congregation

Our church family consists of around 250 members, ranging from young people and students to families and seniors. While most of us live in Wageningen, others join us from surrounding villages. For children, we offer a special Sunday program, and for our older youth, there are clubs and activities, including YouChooze—a vibrant youth group that brings together teens from various churches in Wageningen.

A cherished tradition is our coffee time after the service, where we catch up, share life, and deepen our connections. We warmly invite you to visit and get to know us!

What Do We Believe?

At the heart of our faith is Jesus. Through Him, we know we are beloved children of God, and He invites us to experience God as our Father. Jesus opened the way for us to truly know God, and because we live in His love, we are inspired to share that love with others—both as a community and individually, wherever we are.

Together, we are building God’s Kingdom. We do this by praying, singing, reading the Bible, and celebrating the Lord’s Supper as a congregation. But we also step outside the church walls, participating in local initiatives like KomEet and other neighborhood projects, to be a presence in our wider community.
